top ~ c/o Pink Clubwear, skirt ~ Target, sandals ~ ZooShoe

*I am wearing a 2x in this tee and it stretches very well.  This top runs a little smaller that I anticipated, so I would advise sizing up.

The Maxi tee trend is currently all the rage over on Instagram at the moment, and when I spotted this top on Pink Clubwear I was curious to see what I could do with it.  I have teamed up with them to showcase some of my favorite summer trends, and it has been fun trying to figure out how to wear items while staying true to personal style.  You all know that I am a true lover of simplicity, so I decided to keep things simple by wearing a knit skirt and my colorblocked sandals.  The look came out exactly as I pictured, although my first attempt at styling this tee was a fail!  Initially, I wanted to wear this tee with my white jeans, but the top was a little more fitted than I expected and that look just didn’t translate in the manner that I wanted it to. There was a time when I avoided trends entirely (I have a thing about following the crowd), but I have changed a bit.  I really enjoy trying out trends that agree with my body type, but the most important thing to me is to wear trends in a way that stays true to my style.  Pink Clubwear has a variety of these tops on their website, so if you’re dying to try out the maxi tee trend check them out! You are just so stunning! I’m pretty sure if you lived in a closer state or in the same state, I would definitely always bug you! I love the maxi tee on you. I never even knew there was a such thing..isn’t that shame? You wear it well. Loving ALL of your blog posts.

Golly, I wish that maxi-tee existed when I was out clubbing (not to mention the pencil skirt rage). It’s both sexy and elegant. You rock it and it looks beautiful. Don’t know how it would translate into a classroom situation (I’m a teacher). However I love to experiment with different proportions and imagine this would look superb with palazzo pants or flared jeans; only might be tricky to avoid bulk. In any event thanks for the inspiration..I hope I see more of these types of tops!
